Favorite Phrases by Tim and STV

Here is a list of phrases I've been enjoying lately. I haven't necessarily been using them, but thought they were worthwhile for some reason.

What with the economy...

Six of one, half-dozen of another

On the fritz

Posthaste (thanks Hannah)

As you were... (Nick S)

In the realm of absurdity (Nick S)

Let's get down to brass tacks

In various stages of undress (Matt R)

...but I digress

Here's STV SLV's list

How does that grab you?

Too Soon

Pitter patter, let's get at 'er

For all intents and purposes alt: for all intensive purposes

Contrary to popular belief

At the end of the day...

Quick question...

That's beside the point.

Left hand not knowing what the right is doing

Tit for tat

The next round of this will be exclusively corporate speak. Email contributions to Stileswolfmobile@mac.com please.

ps.
Remember when it was this hot in Chicago?

here's a couple things i've been into lately:

-putting quotes around anything
-responding to any statement with "but have you heard about the economy?"
-using stupid/outdated cliche's ie "i like the cut of your jib"

My currently lewd favorite is 'Pound Town', as in "Are you meeting that girl in pound town this weekend" or "I've been to pound town so many times lately I should be the mayor." The material practically writes itself.

STV SLV lives on my block - or at least that's what i surmise by the personalized plates.

I was always a fan of the phase. "One fell swoop" . . which I sure someone famous said first.
