Remuneration: Word of the Day

remuneration |riˌmyoōnəˈrā sh ən|
money paid for work or a service.

you will receive adequate remuneration for the work you have done

Today was the first time I've heard this one. It's a little fancy. Enjoy.

This word drives me crazy. I think it should be reNuMeration, not reMuNeration. In my head, that would make sense b/c we're talking about money, which you count with NuMbers. Got it?

My coworker was reading an email out loud regarding a guy who wanted some money from us. My coworker thought the writer must have used the word incorrectly, agreeing with you that it should be renumeration. Maybe it's remuneration because it's like re-MONEY or something. I don't know. It's a weird word.
